{ Philly } in photos...

there's something about the city that i am just drawn to.  everything is just bigger and brighter and i can't get enough of the constant stimulation.  the first day of the trip all i did was shop.  not much different from the second day, but i mean how can i not take advantage of the situation.  the weather was nice, so i was happy i didn't have to lug around a huge coat.  a stretch cotton maxi dress was perfect for the almost warm weather.  i bought it in the midst of winter, on the sale rack from forever 21 and i cant stop wearing it ever since.  truly madly deeply long sleeve tee over top with my crown vintage clogs.
to me, this is what makes up Philadelphia.
old architecture, cheesesteaks, and crazy fun artwork.
it was a sunny spring day so the park was filled with people reading on benches and walking their dogs.  my cousin bought this coat right when we got there. thrifted and the bright green color is just almost as cute as she.
best purchases of the trip.  an Urban Outfitters book, Lychee Fizz cocktails, and my thrifted trousers.  i will have to do another post soley about them. they were five dollars and scream glamazon.  a lot of my best finds lately have been from thrift stores.  i highly recommend them because with a little bit of search and effort you can find amazingly cheap unique pieces.  take advantage of all of the clothes that are in need of a home.  and even if you find something that you like doesn't fit you perfectly, it was so cheap anyways that you wont have to feel bad to spend the extra couple dollars to have it tailored to your size.  tailoring is key.
the french quarters were my favorite part of town.  filled with mounds of amazing pastries.  if you haven't had a macaroon, please go get one, and i mean now.

a maxi skirt is a serious spring essential.
look well-traveled in a bold tribal print and get all the attention without needing your caribbean tan just yet.

monday quote

This week's Free People monday quote is definitely one of my favorites, so I wanted to share it.  It seems to perfectly describe my sister and I, and what our blog is meant to be about.
How life is just too short to not take risks.

"What we have here is a dreamer.
Someone completely out of touch with reality.
When she jumped, she probably thought she could fly."

Sunday

spotty fashion

this weekend's weather was beyond beautiful, so I made sure to soak up every ray of sun possible. on sunday my family and I pulled out the patio chairs from storage, grilled out, and enjoyed some delicious food and drinks together.  it was some much needed relaxation and vitamin d.  while getting dressed I found I gravitated towards the silks and chiffons because i wanted to be in something that flows that i could feel the breeze in and that was comfortable enough for lounging around in.  but most importantly, i wanted an outfit that allowed me to eat as much food as i wanted! polka dots are such a simple, yet classic print.  I find that I have so much of it, most of which are hand-me-downs from my grandmother.  my top is actually a vintage nighty from her, which I paired with a black high-waisted maxi skirt and turquoise statement jewelry.
polka dots totally remind me of the audrey hepburn era.  i love these audrey hepburn inspired, cat eyed version of wayfarers.

Thursday

bed posts

my bed is one of my favorite places to be and where i spend more time than i probably should(: before i go out for the night i always lay around in my bed for atleast a good hour, whether its when i'm soaking wet and still in my towel or fully dressed, make-up on, and holding everyone up from leaving the house.  it's my me-time and it is totally necessary. but second  to my bed, comes my fringe cardigan.  the 70's have made their comeback and found their way into my closet, in more ways than i would have ever imagined.  my wood clogs that are so easy to walk in & my warm cable cardigan makes for a comfortable and pretty rad outfit.
