when i learned how to tie-dye my clothes (mainly, how easy it is) i couldn't stop dying everything in sight. this cotton maxi dress used to be all white, and looked far too much like wedding attire, making it the perfect candidate for some DIY color. my vision for this dress was to accentuate the waist line with a bursting technique.
to create this bursting effect, you only need to rubber band and tie-dye one side of the dress down near where your hips begin, while leaving the rest of the dress to dye all one shade of color. this super easy DIY project not only added bright color and an awesome print, but added shape that long, flowy maxi dresses typically don't have.
anyways, we have a lot going on this weekend, making for some great posts for next week! erika's (second) graduation party is tomorrow (she's spoiled), followed by brunch and blogger blitz on Sunday. Super excited, mostly because everyone can finally meet erika in person! hope to see all my dc friends there! xx

ReplyDeletehey lovely! What type of clothing dye do you use? I have a j. crew white dress i'd love to wear to weddings/wedding-related activities but alas, i don't want to make a fashion faux pas and keep it white.
