When DailyBuzz asked me to participate in their 9X9 this week, and i found out the subject was 'Favorite Fall Trends,' the first thing that came to mind was the BCBG Max Azria tuxedo-style blazer hanging in my closet. Thanks to YSL and Helmut Newton's famous image Le Smoking, the women’s tuxedo suit and feminine meets masculine fashion has become an ever-growing trend, and I've been seeing a whole lot of it this fall. From the woman's pants suit to loafers and structured jackets, it’s pretty empowering as a woman to see these once masculine trends come down the runways on high fashion, female models.
When it comes to Fall 2012 Outerwear, blazers are the new coat and a simple silhouette, a modern collar, and a hint of the 1970’s is exactly what I was looking for in my blazer-coat to stay stylish and warm this season. But, I will say now that my next tuxedo-style, looks-like-menswear blazer will be the Lawson Boyfriend Tuxedo Jacket or the Bowie Tuxedo Jacket because this print looks like wood and I love it.
Oh, and I had to throw in a harness, because ever since the BCBG Max Azria show at New York Fashion Week I have been craving to try out this new trend. Just as blazers are the new coat, harnesses are the belt!
