soft tee

we're softy's for a nice, soft tee, but really, who isn't? a tee is such a wardrobe staple, so it's important to find the ones that fit you the best and essentially feel the best.

cost really isn't a factor in this situation though (as i spend fourty dollars on a tee shirt) because i put it on and it feels amazing against my skin and then this is where i give myself a little pep talk. you know the usual, "but i will wear it SO much," "it's TOTALLY worth it." and bam - i'm spending more on a plain, gray tee than i do on food. which is something you need to live, ya know? but i may need this tee to live too, so.
and then there's that whole back cut-out thing, just making it worth every penny.
so everyone, meet my new favorite tee.

the more "electric" take on Nectar Sunglasses

 

 

as summer turned to fall this weekend, I have been reminiscing about all of the awesome things I was able to do during my "time off" as a recent grad. one of my favorite/most awesome pastimes this summer (besides laying out and beaching it, of course) was heading to music festivals. it was only natural that when Nectar gave us the option to choose from all these fresh shades that I knew exactly what festival I would be wearing them to... Electric Zoo (yes, that rhymed hehe!).  and let me tell you, not only did I look super rad and electric, but they also worked like a charm and kept the sun out of my eyes so I could continue my sweet dance moves without being blinded (and injuring bystanders). I'm currently on the search for my next pair(s) and I am beginning to lean towards the pompano and the zeezo! What do you think?

Old Navy finished the show off with a performance from the Backstreet Boys

last Friday, I had the privilege of being an honorary walker in the Old Navy Fit for Fall Runway Event, where myself and hundreds of other girls walked the (huge) runway in Bryant Park in Old Navy's Rockstar Skinny Jeans. obviously, my favorite part should have been walking the runway in front of thousdands of people, or the Backstreet Boys, but the clothes-a-holic in me was more excited about discovering these jeans! now i truly know what Old Navy means when they say they are a great fit for every body. they are just so stretchy and light and comfortable i can't see anybody not enjoying wearing them. jeans are sometimes the death of me. i feel so constrained, or stiff, so they are not my number one choice when it comes to getting dressed. i want as little things touching me as possible (you know, like a five year old?).

but the Old Navy Rockstar Skinny --- it's like butter. not to mention how many colors they come in and that they are only $30. you really are set for life with this line (you just get one of each color, duh). of course, i picked a sort of non-color, if you will, and went with the brown. do you know me at all? i love me some neutrals. confession - i did go ahead and get my self a plum pair too, seen on Jenny above. that color is practically thee color this fall, so it was really out of my hands.

leather mini in the diet pepsi lounge

this was my last day of shows at new york fashion week, and where i spent my time in between Walter Baker & Rebecca Minkoff (is this my life?). i'm loving the un-tucked look these days, giving a polished, white button-down a bit of edge. i met up with one of my dc blogger besties, Carlis, in the lounge for some seriously refreshing (and caffeinated) diet pepsi's in this black and white ensemble. erika & i both love this leather mini skirt, with it's suede side paneling. any mixture of fabrics is always a good thing. plus, the touch of suede gives it a little more of a daytime look, don't you think? now, i can't wait to show you the authentic leather mini that i snagged from Goodwill for $15. success.

welcome to the ready to wear W118 by Walter Baker collection for Spring 2013, that I am more than ready to wear. it's almost as if i could live with just these seperates in my closet to play with all season. something from this collection is bound to show up in a post some time in the near future. i bet you can't find someone who isn't attracted to those bright colors and prints, but i can promise you, you won't find anyone who loved his presentation more than i. just give me a pair of those headphones attached to a neon power cord, plug me in, and i could have hung out in that tent all day and jammed with the rest of them. but really - i think it's time i find their soundtrack too, right? did you hear BCBG Max Azria's runway show soundtrack? check it here. besides the fashion, the music is the second best thing about fashion week.
