Toby Milstein is just a girl who decided to make a difference and allow people to join her in making a statement, literally and figuratively. Playing off of the images of guns we see in fashion (think Chanel’s gun heel), she founded a fashion meets humanitarian initiative called Wear It Don’t Bear It.
Toby designs and sells a collection of jewelry displaying the slogan (and an image of a gun) and 100% (yes, 100%) of profits are donated to the Bereaved Parents of the USA, a nation-wide organization dedicated to helping parents and families who have lost children. Especially given the shocking amount of gun violence that’s taken place in our life time, we were more than willing (more like we feel lucky) to be a part of such a great cause and wear her necklaces.
Wear It Don’t Bear It has only been up and running for a short time, but has earned the support of Leandra Medine (The Man Repeller), Kenneth Cole, Ashley Bush and so many more. Toby is also proud to say that her jewelry is 100% produced in New York City, which makes her mission double-awesome. There are bracelet and necklace styles to choose from, in both sterling silver and gold, and they can be purchased on her Etsy site here.

If there’s anything we ever influence you to buy, let it be this. And it’s so cute, right? We wear ours almost every day. Thank you, Toby, for being such an awesome, selfless, inspirational, giving human being!
