As much as I love shopping, picking out gifts for other people is a struggle for me personally. I actually enjoy the wrapping part more than picking out the gift [see here and here for my holiday gift wrap ideas from last year].
Buying for family and close friends can be hard, but then there always ends up being a few extra people that I have to buy for that prove to be even more difficult. T.J.Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods (three of my regular go-to stores) challenged me to come up with some gifting ideas for those who might not be on your original list, but could use some holiday cheer; Like the doorman, a neighbor, a teacher, or your boss. I, obviously, accepted the challenge and I'm excited to share what I came up with. I think they're pretty great gifts, if I do say so myself!
At HomeGoods I found a gorgeous wool blanket, with a festive print, that would be a perfect gift for your mother-in-law. I paired it with a jar of ready-to-bake cookie mix. Also, I don't travel for the holiday's, but this would be a great gift, if you do travel, to give to whoever you're staying with as a "thank you."
At Marshalls I spotted the best shaker I've seen in a while. It was hard to not keep it for myself, but I immediately thought of my super fun and quirky neighbor when I saw it. She loves to entertain, so I paired the shaker along with some holiday-appropriate napkins to gift her this year.
And lastly, at T.J.Maxx, I found the perfect way to add a little "umph" to a hostess gift for the party I'm attending next week. Normally everyone brings a bottle of wine or champagne to gift the hostess, but since it's the holidays I wanted to do a little something extra. So, picked up some cute stemless wine glasses and reusable wine beads (they keep your wine cool without any watering down!).
