Target Swim

You know summer is right around the corner when you walk into Target and the swimsuits are all out…

We’re getting ready for our little “spring break” trip in just a few months and I’m trying to get organized early so I don’t over-pack. This means really narrowing down suits and finding pieces that can work for day and night. Target get’s in new swimwear every month, did you know that? So, I figured I would just start with one and then go back and do a final check to see what they have right before our vacation. This trip I found a suit that I really love, it’s plain but it’s strappy details make it anything but boring.

Simple and strappy is a huge trend I’ve seen in designer swimwear and Target has a a bunch of great options to chose from this season, that are all super affordable. I also went with a mix and match color scheme by pairing the black top with it’s matching bottom but in a bright, coral color. I love to mix and match and Target makes it really easy and fun to do since you are able to purchase separates.

Adhering to my normal styling preferences, I planned to pack super casual and comfortable looks for our trip. Usually while on vacation, my day look is a little more dressed up and “glam,” before my hair’s filled with salt water and sand. We might only have one day to hit the beach during our trip so I plan to arrive in style and then slowly loosen things up as the day goes on. I’ve packed some cool pieces that I also found at Target that will help me make the transition as the day goes on. The great thing about a simple bathin gsuit is that you can really have fun with accessorizing.

I picked up a graphic tank top that lets the cool straps on my suit to peek out perfectly. Then rather than a basic pair of denim shorts, I found a cute pair of embroidered, black shorts that are a little more dressed up but still super comfortable and beachy. Paired with a wide-brim hat, embellished sandals and retro-style sunglasses, I plan to cruise around in this during bike rides, photo ops and cute lunches during the day.

As the day goes on, and temperatures cool down, I love to just be in my bathing-suit and I found a cool, light-weight hoodie to just throw on over my suit. And with a simple switch of sunnies and shoes – to a colored, mirrored aviator style and tan espadrilles – really casuals up the look for a chill night. What do you think of my glam-to-casual swim look? I think it’s going to be perfect for the day we have planned. And I love that I was able to get it all in one clean swoop at Target!
