When I got my hands on a bottle of this bottle of pink gin, I knew I had to put it to good use. I’m not usually a gin kind of gal, I typically drink salty, extra dirty martini’s or red wine – In case you want to send me a gift, hint, hint! 🙂
Trader Joe’s (my fave) recently had bouquets of dried lavender that I had bought. I didn’t really know what I was going to do with them, but I’d never seen them there before and I had a feeling there had to be some way to incorporate these aromatic sprigs into some sort of cocktail for the holidays. Sure enough, a quick Google of “lavender gin” and I discovered this recipe. The recipe doesn’t call for this specific pink gin, but I knew the colors would be such a sweet compliment of one another. Turns out, it’s also delicious!
If nothing else, I love this bottle of Gin Lane 1751’s ‘Victoria’ Pink Gin simply as a decorative piece on your bar cart. How amazing is that gorgeous rose color! See below for the full recipe and how to make this deliciously beautiful pink cocktail.
STEP 1 Boil 1 cup of water and then pour the boiling water over top of your lavender (in a heatproof bowl) and let it steep for 30 minutes. Strain the lavender, cover and refrigerate until cold.
STEP 2 In your shaker, mix 1/2 oz. of the lavender infusion with the tonic, gin, lime juice and agave. Serve over nice and garnish with a few lavender sprigs and a lime wedge.
Cheers!
