It’s always exciting when traveling somewhere new. I had heard of “Boca” countless times but I really had no idea what to expect. In just two nights we got a pretty good taste of what the hype is all about and Boca is awesome! In case you don’t have a map handy, Boca Raton is just south of West Palm Beach on the South Eastern coast of Florida. We flew into Ft. Lauderdale airport and it was about a 40 minute Uber ride to our hotel, the Waterstone Resort & Marina. We flew in super early on Friday morning on a 6AM flight so that we could make the most out of our short, weekend stay and I’m so glad that we did that.
I’m sure you guessed it, the Waterstone Resort & Marina gets its name from it’s Lake Boca overlook. I loved being able to look out our balcony window at any time and see water and all of the pretty boats passing by. But beyond just great views and the perfect location, there are so many other reasons to stay at the Waterstone. It was truly one of my favorite resorts I’ve ever stayed at, ever!
When on the resort, you’ll be able to book all kinds of water excursions and activities that leave right off the dock of your hotel, like paddle board, kayaks, and jet skis rentals, or even a catamaran cruise. But anytime you want to leave the resort, the staff has drivers waiting to take you where ever you want to go (within a 10-minute drive or so). This saved us a ton of money by not having to rent a car or call Uber’s any time we wanted to go out to eat, go to the beach, or just explore Boca. The Waterstone also provided us with beach chairs, umbrellas and beach towels which saved us a ton of room in our suitcases. How amazing is that?
We also had the chance to try both of the dining options at the Waterstone and loved both! The food was super fresh and the menu offered delicious, locally sourced seafood options. We had dinner at Boca Landing Prime Seafood (the cocktails were amazing here!) where we saw the most beautiful sunset. The next day, we dined poolside in our bathing suits at Waterstone Rum Bar & Grill. You must try the Frosé! It was the perfect after-beach treat.
We also just happened to book our stay the first weekend the resort was kicking off a season of pool parties, talk about good timing! It was very similar to something you’d experience in Miami or Las Vegas and the perfect ending to a fun weekend in Boca. 🙂 Check out a few snaps from the Aqua pool & day club party below! But, not to worry, if pool parties aren’t your thing, there’s beautiful cabanas to rent every day of the week for a more private and relaxed experience.
Wes and I always love chatting and making friends with the locals to get a more authentic experience wherever we go and everyone we met in Boca was beyond friendly. This is probably because they live along palm tree lined beaches and are surrounded by water almost at all times! Whatever the case, Boca just wants to have fun and so did we!
We had such a great time on our first trip to Boca and it really was thanks to our stay at Waterstone Resort & Marina. If you have any questions about our stay, send me a message! I’m happy to help you plan your next trip. Until next time, Boca!
It looks like fun! Pool parties and all! Love the white dress and your JW Anderson bag in the net bag, fun summer resort update!
