RECIPE | Apple Cider Spritz

I think it’s because I worked in bars in college, but I have been a drink snob ever since.  Today, I embarrass Wes with my super specific margarita order, but I can’t help it.  I know what I like!  I also happen to think I know what tastes good.  So if you love a deliciously crafted cocktail too, scroll below for my new favorite fall cocktail recipe!  I think you’re going to love it as much as I do.

The holidays are such a fun time to try new recipes.  I mean, it’s too cold to go outside, so might as well do homely things like that right?  Plus, I’m usually in charge of making a cocktail at my family’s Christmas dinner party.  I brought the same thing last year and I wanted to switch things up this year.  I can’t believe it’s already November so I started searching for a new recipe well in advance and I think I found the one.  So if you end up trying it, let me know what you think!

My drink of choice this summer was a spritz so in sticking with that theme I wanted something bubbly.  I don’t love champagne though, and I know everyone in my family likes Moscow Mules, so I wanted something that featured ginger beer.

I actually came across this recipe on one of my favorite blogs to read regularly – Brunch on ChestnutI just switched out the gin for vodka and it worked perfectly!

Fall Apple Cider Spritz

2 Ounces of Vodka (I used Black Box Spirits Vodka)
.75 ounces of fresh squeezed lemon juice
4 ounces of apple juice or apple cider
4 ounces of chilled ginger beer
1 apple (garnish)
ground nutmeg (garnish)

Recipe makes two servings.

And if you guys have never heard of Black Box, the leader behind the premium boxed wines, recently launched a selection of spirits and they’re definitely worth checking out.  I love their easy pour tap, perfect for a self-serve cocktail bar at your next party.  One less thing for the host to worry about, right?  Or, if you’re headed to a party, they’re so easy to take on the go too.
Attention local readers, Black Box Spirits just launched in Washington DC this month and is now available at select stores.  You can check out their store locator at!

Disclosure:  Black Box Spirits sponsored this post and is intended for ages 21+ only.

Now I’m curious what your margarita order is…

Specialty cocktails are always so much better! Thanks for sharing, girl!
