Week in Review | 02

Uncategorized

Wow, this really puts into perspective how fast the week flies by. I feel like I just wrote one of these! Not to worry, there’s still lot’s of new, fun stuff to cover this week. Real talk though, social media is so fast paced and it can feel hard to keep up sometimes. You know? I’m still working on finding a balance that’s productive but still keeps me sane. I tried using that iPhone timer to limit the time I spend in certain apps (ahem, Instagram), but the whole “Ignore Limit” button proves it to be essentially useless for me.

I’ve been Marie Kondo-ing the “f” out of our apartment and – OMG – it feels so good. I think I’m a pretty organized person but I definitely have too much stuff. Watch ‘Tiding Up‘ on Netflix if you have no idea what I’m talking about. It’s not the most riveting show, but a few episodes should be enough to motivate you to clean out or tidy up at least one drawer or one cabinet. Sometimes I can’t bring myself to work until my house feels clean enough. So I’m hoping having less stuff will help me spend less time cleaning everyday and more time being productive so that I can actually get off at 5:00 PM like a normal person (I actually just laughed out loud when typing that because it seems impossible to me right now!).

You know what was a pleasant surprise though that came from doing the “Kondo fold” in my drawers? It’s helped me to get rid of so much more stuff! Now that I can see everything, I started reaching for things I hadn’t worn in forever. And then, like 75% of the time, I put it on and I’m like, “ew.” So I add it to my donate pile! It just goes to show you, if you haven’t seen/worn/thought about it in months, you probably don’t need it.

So what were you guys up to this week? What’s on your mind? Start the conversation in the comments below and in the meantime, here are my most asked questions from my DM’s this week. Happy Friday! x

Can you share the recipe for the ramen you’ve been making?

Yes! I did in this blog post. It’s sooooo good. Now I’m hungry.

Love those books! Did you find them at HomeGoods?

Yes! I always check the selection of books at HomeGoods for some cute ones to add to our coffee table (Even though Wes hates them). If you can’t get to a HomeGoods though, here are some of my favorites online:

What do you do with all of the stuff you don’t want anymore?

If it’s nice enough I try to sell it, sometimes on Poshmark but most of my clothes go to Current Boutique in Clarendon. Whatever I can’t sell, I donate.

Does the Revlon dryer actually work?

Yes! I wouldn’t share it with you if it didn’t, promise. If you want to see it in action, I posted a tutorial on my IGTV for you guys. I’ve never been able to get such a sleek blowout as I do with this blow dryer. And the volume it gives you is insane.

Can you send me the links of everything you used to blow dry your hair?

I know it’s tricky to find, but if you click the down arrow under the title of a video in IGTV, a caption will drop down and that’s where I link everything! But here they are again:

How to do the Everlane jeans fit?

The jeans are true to size! But, if you’re in between and want a super tight fit, you could size down. They’re sooo comfortable, I seriously think I’m going to order them in more colors. And only $68? Unreal!

What’s the style name of those AGOLDE jeans? And do they run true to size?

OMG. My new favorites. They’re called the ‘Pinch Waist‘ and they’re the most perfect high-waisted, straight-leg jean. Such a good basic to have in your closet. Yes, the brand is true to size for me (I’m a 27).

Do I need that Amazon coat?

Um, probably. I love it and I’m so picky about puffer coats. I need them to be stylish but also not make me feel like a stuffed sausage, ya know? The thing that really sold me though was how warm it is. The fur-lined hoodie is just so fabulous. And did you guys know this coat actually went viral? But, truly, I so badly needed a new (long) puffer coat (with a hood), so for me it was a big yes. It’s so crucial to have for walking the dogs. If you already have something similar, then I’d say it’s up to you if you need another one!

Can you link us to the gold necklaces you always wear?

Most of my necklaces are Missoma London, here are the one’s I wear daily:

What is the Pixi Glow Tonic and where can I get it?

It’s an exfoliating toner made with glycolic acid (great for brightening and acne prone skin!) and you can get it at Target. Super affordable and works really well!

What is that lip color?

99% of the time I’m wearing a red lip, it’s Tom Ford lipstick in ‘Wild Ginger.‘ I swear by it!

Can you link that leopard top you’re wearing?

Of course! While we’re at it, here are links to everything I wore/posted about this week that are available to shop online:

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. Been wanting to “KonMari” everything! And the whole limiting IG time is such a f’ing struggle. Part of me will be like “let’s try to stay off Stories” because I often find myself checking every 2 minutes to see what new replies might have come in. And the other part is like, “eff it. just do whatever you want.” And then hours go by just scrolling and scrolling… it’s a never-ending death trap.

P.S. Love that outfit and love you! <3

Love the roundup! Definitely loving those necklaces!
